How do you visualise Science & Technology?

The Visualisation Competition balances artistic expression with scientific research and technological advancements. As an individual or team, participants showcase their prowess in translating complex data and scientific concepts into visually stunning presentations. From intricate simulations and data-driven visualizations to captivating animations, participants have only 60-seconds to use visual imagery to explain one of the following themes to a lay audience:

  1. High Performance Computing (HPC)
  2. Artificial Intelligence (AI)
  3. Quantum Computing
  4. Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM)

Winners of the SCA2024 Visualisation Competition will receive monetary prizes!

How to Apply

In the application form, you will need to provide the following:

  1. Title of your presentation
  2. One sentence summary of your presentation (max. 30 words)
  3. Upload the video file of your presentation in mp4, avi, or other format that can be automatically played on a digital screen onto the Visualisation competition submission folder in the SCA2024 google drive. You will need to add this slide as your title before your presentation. Make sure your video file is labeled as follows: LastName, FirstName – TitleofPresentation

Note: participants can enter the competition multiple times with different themes.

Once your application and video have been submitted and assessed, your video will be uploaded to the NCI YouTube page to be viewed and where the public can vote for the People’s Choice Prize. Note: votes will be assessed for authenticity. Any participant that cheats for the People’s Choice Prize will be disqualified.
